Celebrating Camilo: What becomes forbidden, blasphemous, trauma, expiation, enigma...

In Opera Satellite, proposing unusual crossovers and new formats and explorations around operatic material, soprano Catarina Molder and dancer and choreographer Tânia Carvalho are challenged to build a performance exploring the work of Camilo Castelo Branco, to celebrate the two hundredth anniversary of the celebrated Portuguese novelist birth, in collaboration with composer Daniel Moreira, evoking Camilo's first novel, and the recurring themes of his work, atonement, sacrifice, revenge, eternal human capacity of deceiving, manipulating or betraying others. What becomes forbidden, blasphemous, trauma, expiation, enigma...
