Nuno Dias

He graduated in Vocal Performance from the University of Aveiro, where he studied with Professor Isabel Alcobia and later served as Assistant Lecturer during the 2013/14 academic year. He subsequently continued his vocal studies with Alan Watt, Tom Krause and Michael Rhodes. He was awarded a scholarship by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to participate in the ENOA (European Network of Opera Academies) programme.

In 2013, he was selected for the Verbier Festival Opera Academy, where he worked with Barbara Bonney, Claudio Desderi, Thomas Quasthoff and Tim Carroll, receiving the Thierry Mermod Young Talent Award.

As a concert soloist, he has performed with numerous Portuguese and international orchestras, appearing in major works of the choral-symphonic repertoire.

On the operatic stage, he has performed a wide range of roles at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, in works by composers including Puccini, Donizetti, Rossini and Bizet. His repertoire also includes operas by Verdi, Mozart, Busoni, Stravinsky and Britten, performed at theatres and festivals in Portugal and abroad.

His discography includes the acclaimed album Canções Pagãs, dedicated entirely to the songs of Luiz Goes, which was recognised by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture as a work of Cultural Interest.

During the 2014/15 season, he was a resident artist at the Stadttheater Bern, Switzerland. He is currently a member of the artistic ensemble of the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos.
