Gabriel Neves dos Santos

Gabriel Neves dos Santos, tenor, holds a Master's degree in Voice from the Haute École de Musique de Genève. He is a member of ÓPERA ISTO, the Casa da Música Choir, Ensemble Antiquorum and the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne (Switzerland), and collaborates regularly with the ensembles Cupertinos and Bando de Surunyo. In opera, highlights include his performances in the Portuguese premiere of Kurt Weill's Johnny Johnson, in a production by the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in January 2026. Other notable roles include Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini), Ferrando (Così fan tutte, W. A. Mozart), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, W. A. Mozart), Pastore (L'Orfeo, Monteverdi), L'Italien (Angélique, J. Ibert), Sospiro (L'opera seria, Gassmann), Cicínio (La Donna di Genio Volubile, Marcos Portugal), Bastien (Bastien und Bastienne), Charlie 8 (Por Todos Nós, E. Carrapatoso), Count Gloria-Cassis (Les Brigands, Offenbach), among others.

In September 2019, he made his debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève as the Solo Tenor in Philip Glass's opera Einstein on the Beach. In November 2021, he gave a recital at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos as part of the Cancioneiro Português project with Maestro João Paulo Santos. In the field of Lied, he has performed the complete song cycles Dichterliebe (R. Schumann) and Die schöne Müllerin (F. Schubert), which formed the focus of his Master's research in Switzerland. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music (Voice), a Postgraduate Diploma in Opera and Music Theatre Studies, and is currently completing a Master's degree in Music Education at ESMAE.
