Aida Pascu
Romanian soprano Aida Pascu graduated from the National University of Music Bucharest and the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” in Cluj. Born into a family of opera singers, she received musical training from early childhood. She has performed on numerous stages in Romania, as well as internationally.
Her artistic development was marked by her debut as Mimì in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème at Sofia National Opera in 2022. The following year, she portrayed Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the National Cluj Opera in Romania, as well as Nedda in Pagliacci at Stara Zagora Opera in Bulgaria. She has also performed Mimì in La Bohème at the National Bucharest Opera, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Deutsche Oper Berlin. In autumn 2025, she returned to this signature role, appearing in La Bohème at Glyndebourne in the United Kingdom.
In 2024, she was named Young Artist of the Year at the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) and made a successful debut as Elcia in Gioachino Rossini’s Mosè in Egitto in Italy.
In 2026, she added two major Verdi and Puccini roles to her repertoire: Violetta Valéry in Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata, and Cio-Cio-San in Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
