Rita Calçada Bastos, Lisbon, 1976. She has worked as an actress since 1999. She holds a degree in Actor/Director Training from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School. In theatre, she has worked with directors including Carlos Avilez, Carlos Pimenta, Nuno M. Cardoso, Carla Bolito, Carlos António, Miguel Moreira, António Feio, João Brites, José Wallenstein, Álvaro Correia, Nuno Pino Custódio, Luca Aprea, Martim Pedroso, João Pedro Vaz, Miguel Loureiro, Pedro Gil, among others, and has also collaborated with choreographer Olga Roriz.

Her television credits include Todo o Tempo do Mundo, O Testamento, Liberdade 21, Feitiço de Amor, Morangos com Açúcar, Belmonte, O Sábio, among others.

Since 2008, she has also developed her career as a stage director with productions including Grandes Sinais, her own original creation; Alma, based on Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams; If I Were Nina; Scenes from a Marriage by Ingmar Bergman; I Am Clarice; We'll Meet at Daybreak by Zinnie Harris; In Search of Chaplin, the final production of a trilogy; What Winds Are These by Luís Osório; and Suggia by Isabel Millet.

For nearly twenty years, she taught acting at several drama schools, includinool. For the past five years, she has served as coordinator of the CBT (Basic Theatre Course) for the Municipality of Cascais.g Chapitô and the Cascais Professional Theatre Sch
