Célia Teixeira
Célia Teixeira began her musical studies at the age of six at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga, a path that shaped her vocation from an early age. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Singing from the Lisbon School of Music and trained as an actress at ACT School, currently working in both artistic fields.
As a performer, she has developed an active career in contemporary opera, collaborating regularly with the AREPO company. In this context, she appeared in Maria Cachucha ne se cache pas, presented in Paris, and Fausto das Montanhas, performed at FIATO (Porto) and the 39th Madeira Music Festival. She also took part in the recording of the Antena 2 radio programme An Opera in One Minute.
She has previously collaborated with Operafest, performing the role of Emilie in Till Death Do Us Part and Sister Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, and with the company Inestética, with whom she performed and recorded the operas As Flores do Mal and Manifesto Nada.
As a soloist, she has performed at festivals and concert series including the Festival Peças Frescas (Teatro São Luiz), Festival Dias da Música (CCB), Festival Música Viva (Teatro Aberto), and the Young Composers Programme of the São Carlos National Theatre, consolidating her presence in Portugal's contemporary music scene.
In the field of Baroque music, she was a member of the Chorakademie Lübeck, performing at the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth (Germany), the Kurhaus in Merano and the Forum Brixen in Bressanone (Italy). She has also performed with the Divino Sospiro Orchestra in concerts at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Marvão International Music Festival.
In the field of sacred music, she performed Mozart's Coronation Mass at Teatro Micaelense and Vivaldi's Gloria with the Braga Chamber Orchestra.
Throughout her career, she has studied with Lucia Lemos, Jill Feldman, Milagros Poblador, Lieve Jansen, Luís Madureira, and Dora Rodrigues, all of whom have contributed to her technical and artistic development.
