Rita Filipe

Portuguese mezzo-soprano Rita Filipe is currently studying with Élène Golgevit, following two years of advanced training with Chantal Mathias at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She holds a degree in Acting from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC) and completed her vocal studies at the National Conservatory of Lisbon under the guidance of António Wagner Diniz.

As a soloist, she has collaborated with ensembles and orchestras including Il Gardellino, La Grande Chapelle, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Os Músicos do Tejo, Divino Sospiro, Ensemble MPMP, the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, and the Orquestra das Beiras, under the direction of Peter Van Heyghen, Albert Recasens, Marcos Magalhães, Jan Wierzba, Pedro Carneiro, Massimo Mazzeo and Aarón Zapico.

She made her operatic debut at Operafest Lisboa, taking part in the Maratona I. Her operatic roles include Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice), Lugrezzia (Lo frate 'nnamorato), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Maddalena (Il viaggio a Reims), and Suor Infermiera (Suor Angelica).

As a concert soloist, she has performed Bach's St John Passion, Mozart's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Janáček's The Diary of One Who Disappeared.

She collaborates regularly with Ensemble Pygmalion under the direction of Raphaël Pichon and has been a member of the Gulbenkian Choir, Nova Era Vocal Ensemble, and Ensemble Vocal Aura.

In 2024, she recorded José Joaquim dos Santos's Good Friday Responsories with the Real Câmara Orchestra for Passacaille Records. In January 2026, she made her debut in popular music under the stage name ChamaRita with the EP Ir sem Voltar.
