Christian Luján

Christian Luján began his musical studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Medellín, Colombia. He later studied Musicology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Voice at the Portuguese National Conservatory, where he trained with Manuela de Sá. He continued his vocal training at the Flanders Opera Studio under Ronny Lauwers and at the International Opera Academy under Guy Joosten.

His operatic roles include Albert in Werther (Teatro Verdi di Trieste); Marcello in La Bohème (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos); Escamillo in Carmen (Operafest); Scarpia in Tosca (Operafest); the title role in Don Giovanni (Óbidos Opera Festival); Renato in Un ballo in maschera; Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (Operafest); Lorenzo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos); Leporello in Don Giovanni (Alden Biesen Zomeropera); Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (Teatro São Luiz); Un Dieu Infernal in Alceste by Gluck (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos); Dottor Grenvil in La traviata by Verdi (Brussels Philharmonic); Le Géôlier in Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos); Varsonofjev in Khovanshchina by Mussorgsky (Vlaamse Opera); Lodovico and Montano in Otello by Verdi (Vlaamse Opera); Vermummte Herr and Otto in Frühlings Erwachen (Flagey and Vlaamse Opera); Publio in La clemenza di Tito (Belém Cultural Centre); Colas in Bastien und Bastienne; and Junius Brutus in The Rape of Lucretia (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos / Teatro Nacional São João), among others.
