Operafest Lisboa & Oeiras Chorus

A vibrant ensemble that plays a key role in the festival's presentations, the Operafest Lisboa Chorus features a wide range of talented young singers who add to the intricate fabric of operatic performance. Classics like Verdi's Un ballo in maschera, Bizet's Carmen, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Verdi’s La traviata and Purcel’s Dido and Aeneas are among the performances in which they have participated.

Since its debut in 2022, the Chorus has performed under the direction of renowned conductors Jan Wierzba, Osvaldo Ferreira, Pedro Carneiro, Filipa Palhares, and Marcos Magalhães, in addition to stage directors Sandra Faleiro, Tonan Quito, Mónica Garnel, João Pedro Mamede, David Pereira Bastos, and Rui Horta.

The performances of the Operafest Lisboa Chorus support the festival's mission to showcase opera that appeals to today's audiences by fusing the classics with elements of contemporary artistry.
